Overview

A Segment, in theory, is a group of customers who share some common characteristics.

Segmentation is widely used in the field of marketing to target the right audience for a marketing campaign. For example, cross-selling a hair conditioner to a set of customers who have purchased shampoo in the past. Or launching a new dry skin-related product to those who have purchased a product for the same concern in the past.

LimeChat's Segments tool helps you build such segments using which you can broadcast to the relevant audience or download the list of such customers to perform any other action.

Types of Segmentation Filters

  • Based on WHAT activity they have performed in the past

  • Based on WHEN they performed a certain activity

  • Based on CHARACTERISTICS of the activity they performed

  • Based on CHARACTERISTICS of the customer's overall purchase history

Limitations

  • Currently, only historical data from Shopify brands can be imported
